What is the difference between tutoring and the instruction you provide?
I provide specialized academic instruction based on assessments, enabling me to provide individualized supports to facilitate literacy growth.
Tutoring typically provides individual assistance with homework and/or subject based content.
Do you provide Orton-Gillingham (OG) instruction?
Yes, I have been trained in Orton-Gillingham, in addition to a large variety of research-based instructional methods. This allows me to match my approach to what is working for your child.
Teaching literacy for over 15 years, I have completed training and research in a range of approaches and programs, including, but not limited to: Lindamood Bell (LiPS), Reading Foundation (Discover Reading and Meaning), Top 10 Tools (Dr. Glaser), Reading and Writing Power (Adrienne Gear), Read Naturally, Hearbuilder, and Cogmed.
What approach do you use?
I follow long-standing current research to inform my practice. This includes being: direct, systematic, multisensory, explicit, and constantly responding and revising my approach to match the child’s learning.
What is your fee?
Refer to my fee schedule here. Depending on your child’s needs, I typically recommend scheduling sessions 2-3x per week to increase the rate of growth and to have your child experience success faster.
